I am over the moon to announce that I have received FOUR nominations for the Society of Voice Arts & Sciences (SOVAS) Awards for 2023! I attended the awards last year, and have been manifesting all year that I would be on the list this year, and I am thrilled to say it came true!
The SOVAS Awards are one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the industry, and I am honored to be nominated in the following categories:
Audiobooks: Fiction
Audiobooks: Self-Help
Audiobooks: Teen
Narration: E-Learning

I have worked so hard for so long to establish my voiceover business, so to get this kind of recognition from a group I have such respect for is mind-blowing. It also gives me such joy to know that the areas I am nominated in are also the genres I teach in my classes for Voice Masters, which is incredible validation (also one of my former students got nominated!). When I first started narrating audiobooks, I frankly wasn’t sure if it was a genre I wanted to continue pursuing. The narrating part was never the question, but the editing / producing piece was difficult for me at first. Through a lot of research, trial, and error, I finally got to a point where the editing is so streamlined, I fell in love with audiobooks. I love sharing in my classes when I’m teaching how I have optimized my process, because I hope to help other voice actors avoid the pitfalls I encountered when I was starting out.
E-Learning is an area of VO I absolutely love working in! The project that is nominated was one of about 20 videos I have narrated for Visa Analytics Platform, and I am so proud of my relationship with that client, and the work we have done together. I get to learn about so many amazing topics while working in e-learning, and it is always interesting to me. I hope that my genuine interest in these subjects is conveyed in my performance, and resonates with the audience.
The SOVAS Awards will take place December 10, 2023 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel (home of the Golden Globes!), and I am so excited to take part in the event, and celebrate many of my friends and colleagues who are also nominated this year.
